Bearings

Cork Bearing Company are distributors for many of the world’s leading bearing manufacturers.
This position follows many years of providing bearing products and solutions to the Irish bearing trade and end user.
With a massive stock, plus full technical back up from our qualified engineers – our services also include design, advice on bearing applications and bearing failure reports, we provide a premier level of bearing service.

Angular Contact Bearings

Angular Contact Bearings are available in single row and double row designs with solid inner and outer rings and ball and cage assemblies with polyamide, sheet steel or brass cages. Single row versions are available in X-Life quality.
Open and sealed versions are available. Please call for details.

Bearing Units

A range of Ball Bearing Units which combine a sealed radial ball bearing complete with a housing of high grade cast iron or mild steel. An extended range of bearing units for use in special environments such as food and beverage industries. Each unit is fitted on both sides with a seal which prevents grease leakage and contamination from foreign matter.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, series and sizes (N,NU,NJ,NF,NUP). The majority are single row bearings with a cage. High-capacity bearings, double row bearings, multi-row bearings, single and double row full complement bearings (without a cage) and split bearings complete the standard assortment provided here.
Bearings with a cage can accommodate heavy radial loads, rapid accelerations and high speeds. Full complement bearings incorporate a maximum number of rollers and are therefore suitable for very heavy radial loads at moderate speeds. high-capacity cylindrical roller bearings combine the high load carrying capacity of a full complement bearing with the high speed capability of a bearing with a cage.

Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Single row deep groove ball bearings, commonly known as 'popular metrics', are rigid non-separable radial bearings and are the most common bearings, used in a wide range of applications from agricultural equipment to printing machinery.
They are designed to carry both axial and radial loads.

Plain Bearings

Plain or solid bearings are the least expensive type of bearing.
They comprise of a bearing surface with no rolling element and are lightweight, compact and have a high load capacity, which can be used in a wide range of applications.

Self-Aligning Ball Bearings

Self-aligning ball bearings are non-separable double-row radial bearings.
Both rows of balls rotate, in parallel, within the spherical raceway in the outer ring, as a result, this allows for an excellent alignment compensation, caused by machining and mounting errors between the shaft and housing.

Sleeves & Adaptors

Adapter and withdrawal sleeves are devices used to mount and secure rolling element bearings with tapered bores onto cylindrical shaft seats.
This enables the mounting or dismounting of rolling element bearings in a simple and effective way for a variety of applications.

Spherical Roller Bearings

Spherical roller bearings are non-separable, double row radial bearings.
Both rows of barrel shaped rollers rotate in parallel, within the spherical outer ring. This allows excellent alignment compensation caused by machining and mounting errors, between the shaft and housing.

Spherical Roller Bearings

Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings

Spherical roller thrust bearings have specially designed raceways and can accommodate a large number of asymmetrical rollers.
They are self-aligning and their spherical rollers run on the spheroid raceways of shaft and housing washers.

Taper Roller Bearings

Single row tapered roller bearings are separable radial bearings, they consist of the inner ring with roller and cage assembly, (cone) and a loose outer ring (cup).
As single row tapered roller bearings are only able to accept thrust loads in one direction, therefore they must always be used in pairs where one bearing is adjusted against another, which guides the shaft in the opposite direction.

Thrust Ball Bearings

Thrust ball bearings are separable axial bearings that are produced in both single and double direction acting design.
To assist in simple effective mounting or dismounting the bearing washers, seating, and cage and ball assemblies, may be individually mounted in their arrangement location.

Copper Split Unit

Cooper split bearings combine the two crucial elements of running cost-effective machinery: flexibility and reliability.
Flexibility because the split design allows access without the need to dismantle components related to the bearing.
Reliability because they are able to function in what might otherwise be thought of as 'problem' locations.
The key features of Cooper split bearings mean they will function effectively anywhere your designer has the imagination to incorporate them:

  • the swivel cartridge accommodates angular misalignment
  • the constantly concentric sealing offers superior protection
  • only grease lubrication is needed for maintenance

This results in bearings that are able to withstand harsh working conditions while keeping downtime to a minimum. They are straightforward to retro-fit and can replace most spherical or bush bearings in rotational equipment.
Increasingly, Cooper split bearings are specified at the design stage due to the significant reduction in maintenance downtime - and therefore greater return on investment – they represent.

Needle Bearing

Needle roller bearings are bearings with cylindrical rollers that are small in diameter relative to their length. The ends of the rollers are relieved slightly to modify the line contact between the rollers and raceways. This prevents stress peaks at the roller ends to extend bearing service life. In spite of their low cross section, needle roller bearings have a high load carrying capacity. Therefore, they are extremely suitable for bearing arrangements where radial space is limited.
Needle roller bearings are supplied many different designs, series and in a wide range of sizes, which make them appropriate for a wide variety of operating conditions and applications.
